Every day, we’re faced with news stories about record-breaking heat, raging wildfires, devastating floods, and extreme droughts plaguing our planet. This onslaught of dreadful news on climate change and its effects can often overwhelm us and make us feel powerless.
What often gets hidden in the news are the amazing things people are already doing to save our planet, as well as the many things we all can do to do our part. Chasing Verde was created as a counterbalance to the abundance of negative news stories about climate change that often don’t highlight solutions or provide steps people can take to live a cleaner and greener lifestyle.
Our mission is to empower individuals with the information they need to make eco-conscious decisions. Together, we can work towards reducing emissions and minimizing the impact of fossil fuels, while living healthier lives. Let’s chase that greener life today!
Our Commitments
- Be solution oriented. There are enough articles covering the impacts of climate change. Every article we publish will provide clear, actionable solutions you can take or answer your questions about living more sustainably.
- Highlight positive news stories. Let’s celebrate the ingenuity and innovation of the many people already working hard to solve our biggest problems.
- Don’t let perfect be the enemy of taking action. Many of the solutions we highlight are not perfect and may have downsides. We promise to provide all the information we can, both the good and the bad, so you can make the most informed decision.
About the Founder

Supriya is the founder, owner, and author of Chasing Verde. Although Supriya has always tried to live in a sustainable way, it was not until she became a mother that she started to really get serious about what additional steps she could take to do her part for the planet. In fact, it was while she was pregnant that she came across an article that outlined the sheer abundance of microplastics in our lives (learning through this article that they were already likely in her womb and placenta, probably ingested through the drinking water!), that spurred her into action. She wanted to create a resource where individuals can learn about what steps they can take to live greener lives, without being paralyzed into inaction by the scale of climate change.
She has worked in the nonprofit sector her whole career, including as a researcher and communications manager at the Worldwatch Institute, which was an environmental research organization based in Washington, D.C.
